Early exit in 20th annual Sumar Classic at Terre Haute Action Track
The final dirt event on the USAC Silver Crown National Championship schedule brought Kyle Steffens and 28 competitors to Terre Haute Action Track (Terre Haute, Ind.) on Sunday afternoon for the 20th Sumar Classic.
After struggling early in practice, Steffens was able to find his speed in time trials as he timed in eighth-fastest overall. Rolling off on the fourth row for the main event, Kyle was collected in a tangle on lap 70 that ended his strong run on the half-mile’s cushion.
Steffens remains in fifth in the latest USAC Silver Crown National Championship point standings.
